Sea Salt Caramel Cups

I have been buying both the caramel and mint cups from Free2b for many years. More often, I buy the mint, but my review for both would be identical. I just purchased caramel cups after not having had them for awhile and snapped this photo.

The ingredients have shifted, I believe because of rising costs, which is understandable to an extent. The fillings are now almost too sweet in my opinion, but it is candy, and if I didn't remember the old filling I might not think much about it. The main issue is that the filling is SO runny now.

If, like me, you're someone who loves to eat these while savoring rather than just stuffing the whole thing into your mouth, then the filling is a problem. I've bought enough of them (from multiple sellers both in store and online and directly from Free2b) to know that this is not an isolated incident. Almost every single one with the new recipe has been runny, unless I put them in the freezer. The photo I attached is before I even got to take a bite. The house is cool, so it's not temperature related. When the chocolate outer ingredients changed, so too apparently did their ability to hold in the new more runny contents. I keep buying them because they're one of the only treats that are safe for me to eat, but I'm growing tired of a sticky mess every time I eat these and have found myself buying fewer and fewer of them.

Great allergy-safe treats in a nice range of flavors but not a fan of the recipe changes over the past couple years and would love to see an attempt to improve them closer to the original version.

There is no reason that I should have bought these. I was not looking for a dairy-free or allergy-friendly product, and I actually mistook these for peanut butter cups. The shiny colorful packaging was what sold these to me.

When I opened the bag and reached in, I found that a candy piece had broken open and coated much of the package in stickiness. Unwrapping the first piece, I saw that the side wall was too thin to contain the filling (Reese's cups also notably suffer from this problem). The candy filling was runny, syrupy stuff that tasted excessively, almost acidic-sweet. It was definitely not caramel, and it didn't taste salty either. I was disappointed when I realized that the stuff that leaked out in the package is all that's in there. These didn't get finished.

I genuinely think you guys at free2b can do better than this. I think making good caramel is an easy self-given assignment, and you are failing it. If you are going to make this product this lousy, I fairly feel you owe it to everyone to make the text that says "dairy free" a lot bigger because this is no competitor to real caramel made with dairy. The product should be good enough to reward a customer like me for accidentally choosing it because the package is flashy.

This is the only candy I now eat. I love the "less than" ingredients and the great taste. I love it when they are BOGO at Publix.

I buy this brand when it goes on BOGO at Publix. While the cups taste really good, every time I open a bag I get a melted glob of caramel at the bottom of the bag. They need to be refrigerated in transportation, on the shelf and at home. I won't buy this brand again.

Kamyle is 11 years old and has a severe tree nut/peanut allergy, and she misses out on most treats. She was delighted to get free2b chocolates in the mail. She is savoring every bite and just loves these! The Sea Salt and Caramel are her favorite.

I can’t tell you how grateful I am that your company makes candy free of natural flavors, citric acid, soy and food dyes! It’s so nice to be able to buy candy I can give my kid to enjoy from time to time without feeling guilty. Thank you!!!

Doesn’t taste as good as previous batches. I can’t taste much of the sunflower butter and the chocolate cup is smaller and thinner.

Finally, a vegan caramel candy that is actually delicious and tastes like caramel. I discovered these at Disney and had to track them down because I fell in love with them! Highly recommend! Customer service is exceptional, and I had no issues getting these shipped safely to Florida with warmer weather.

I've been enjoying these products for about a year now. I have a TON of allergies, sensitivities and intolerances that have reduced my list of foods to about a handful of items. I was reluctant to try this flavor, but now it's one of my favorites.
